Assessor
Each year the Assessor’s Office must calculate the assessed value of each property. In determining the assessment, the Assessor reviews the characteristics of each property, identifies area neighborhoods, and uses a sales study to analyze market values within each neighborhood, comparing the sale prices to the assessed values.

Clerk
Duties of the City Clerk are to facilitate Official Meetings and Board / Commission Appointments; to manage and preserve the official records of the City and to assist the public in accessing public documents and information.

Coldwater Board of Public Utilities
Since the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities is municipally owned and operated, these decision-makers that draft our policies, rates and regulations are local citizens who represent the interest of our local customers.

Community Engagement
The Department for Community Engagement is a shared department between the City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU). The department is responsible for working with the City Manager and the Utility Director to release all formal communication from the organizations. They are responsible for planning or assisting with City and CBPU events and community engagement initiatives, website management, overseeing sponsorships and donations, overseeing community outreach (i.e. surveys, door hangers, social media messages, and push notifications), and other marketing needs as assigned (i.e. designing bill inserts, creating the city calendar, writing award submissions, etc.).

Economic Development
The Branch County Economic Growth Alliance (BCEGA) was created in 1989 to oversee economic development for Branch County, with its primary purpose to market the County’s industrial parks, located in the cities of Bronson, Coldwater, and the villages of Quincy and Union City.

This department handles commercial, industrial, and residential energy rebates.
