Earth Day Event 2010

Hooray for Earth Day!

We are excited to be able to have another Earth Day event at the CBPU this year.  Because of all the great input we receive from our local citizens, our Earth Day event just keeps getting better and better.

April 21st through April 23rd

Starting Wednesday, April 21st through Friday, April 23rd we are encouraging our residents to stop by the CBPU and “make the switch” on the following items:

· An incandescent bulb for a CFL

· Five (5) plastic grocery bags for a reusable grocery bag.

· A mercury thermometer for a digital thermometer.

Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program

Another program we’re thrilled to bring back this year is the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program.  Old worn out athletic shoes are collected for recycling, transforming them into Nike Grind, a material used in creating athletic and playground surfaces as well as other select Nike products.

While you’re here “making the switch”, don’t forget to enter our contests!  We’ve got great prizes lined up like CFL’s, a programmable thermostat, low flow shower heads & free trees! We always have stuff for the kids, so bring them too!

This event raises awareness on efficient utility products and services.  The CBPU would like to helps our public see there are products and services designed to protect our environment as well as save money on utility bills.
