Electric

The CBPU currently services electricity to over 6,875 residential, commercial, industrial and street lighting customers.  Being a Public Power provider, we ensure safe, reliable, competitive and efficient utility products and services. (more)

Water, Sewer & Wastewater Treatment

Coldwater's water treatment plant was designed to remove iron and manganese but not soften municipally supplied water.  The water utility is protecting the water supply with a wellhead protection program.  It is one of the first of its kind in the state of Michigan. (more)

Cable, Internet & Phone Service

The City of Coldwater owns and operates their own Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) network.  This network provides competitive cable television service, high-speed Internet service, data transport services and even digital phone service!  (more)

Garbage, Recycling & Brush Collection

Republic Waste Services provides all residential refuse collection for the City of Coldwater.  The City has rules regarding the use of your toter.  Please have all your garbage in plastic or paper bags to eliminate waste from falling out of your toter while it is being dumped.  Please be advised items that will not fit in your toter will only be picked up by contacting the DMS to make special arrangements. The City of Coldwater and Board of Public Utilities offices are located at One Grand Street, Coldwater, MI 49036.  We are on the corner of Monroe Street and Grand Street, in the Henry L. Brown Municipal Building.  Our business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. (more)
