The City of Coldwater and the Coldwater DDA encourage community members to attend the final Small Town Design Initiative (STDI) community input session regarding redesign of the Four Corners Park areas scheduled for Thursday, January 19th at 6:30PM at the Henry L. Brown Municipal building, One Grand St in City Council chambers. Light refreshments will be served.
At the meeting, community members will be given the chance to view large scale printed versions of the design concepts. Armed with sticky notes and pens, they will be asked to note on each concept which design features they like the most, the least, or would like to see modified. This information, along with public comment gathered throughout the STDI planning process, will be used to create a final visual master plan for the Four Corners park areas which will be revealed in spring 2012.
The STDI is offered through Michigan State University’s (MSU) Planning and Landscape Architecture Department which has worked with many small communities throughout Michigan who’ve utilized the design concepts provided by the STDI program as a step towards beatification and community revitalization efforts. The program was brought to Coldwater as a joint effort between the City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority (DDA).
