[ARCHIVED] CBPU Receives National Recognition for Public Power Promotion

RP3 Promotion Award

The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities have received an American Municipal Power (AMP) Public Power Promotion award for the promotion of its Reliable Public Power (RP3) designation. The RP3 designation recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity.

Since receiving the award the CBPU has represented themselves with the RP3 logo on all utility vehicles and member uniforms. Additionally, the CBPU promotes the RP3 designation and public power through events and social media. Local news affiliates have published stories regarding the CBPU’s RP3 designation detailing how and why we earned it.

CBPU Engineering Manager, Charles Bauschard is the Vice Chair of the RP3 community. Charlie is progressive in setting new goals each year and continues to raise the bar for the CBPU organization. He also compiles an annual report detailing peer-evaluation of our utility’s reliability, safety, work force development, and system improvement initiatives which are all vital to our utility and achievement of the RP3 Award. Additionally, Charlie promotes our RP3 status to leaders across the nation as a means to increase development within our community.

“We’re honored to receive the RP3 Promotion Award,” said Charles Bauschard, Engineering Manager of CBPU. “This award shows the commitment our staff and the recognition of their hard work.”
