[ARCHIVED] CBPU Water Department Continues Updating Water Infrastructure

BPU Water Building

The CBPU Water Department is continuing to update water infrastructure today, Thursday, August 11, 2022. Crews will be changing out a water valve at the intersection of Race St. and Jackson St.; Jackson St. from Peckham St. to Race St. will be closed. Water pressure will be affected in the area and customers may experience discolored water. Customers experiencing discolored water are encouraged to complete the following steps:

  • Slowly begin running cold water out of the faucet.
  • Let the water run for 20 minutes. If the water is still brown, repeat the process.
  • If the water does not become clear after this process, please call the CBPU at (517) 279-9531.

During this time, customers may want to refrain from doing their laundry, as it may cause discoloration/staining of their clothes or household items. The CBPU Water Department estimates that work will be complete by 5:00 P.M. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities at (517) 279-9531. Thank you.
