The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) will no longer be offering the Utility Shield residential program and the current agreement is set to end in May 2022. Current members can explore their options below. It is important to note that current customers can maintain their protection with Utility Shield by selecting another payment method.
OPTIONS
- Continue Your Protection: Continue your protection by transitioning your account to a direct billing relationship with IGS Home Warranty, the providers of your UtilityShield protection. This means that you will pay them directly by providing them with a credit card or checking account to automatically pay for your protection plan on the same day every month. They will also be able to ensure that you are on their newest version of these protection plans.
- Let your plan expire before the end of May 2022: The CBPU's agreement with Utility Shield will end in May 2022, and if you no longer want home protection with them, you can do nothing and let your plan expire.
SO WHAT'S NEXT?
Utility Shield's account management team will be reaching out by phone and/or email to coordinate the transition to a direct billing relationship before the end of May 2022. You can also call them at 855.511.3311 or email them at [email protected] if you’d like to take care of it sooner.
If you have any questions regarding the CBPU's decision to stop the Utility Shield Residential Program, please call the CBPU at (517) 279-9531.
