The City of Coldwater would like to remind citizens that sections of US-12 will be closed by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to complete necessary construction. The closures do not have a set location or schedule on US-12, as the work zone moves daily as repairs are completed. To accommodate this, US-12 will remain one lane in each direction until the completion of the project. Crews are currently working on milling and paving intersections and parking lanes, which may cause a temporary closure of the road in that immediate area.
Further construction projects around the City of Coldwater include road widening and replacement on Sauk River Drive, asphalt milling, paving, concrete repairs, utility, and curb work on Western Ave. and State St., and renovations at Four Corners Park. For a complete timeline and list of construction updates, please visit our webpage here.
The City understands that MDOT’s construction may disrupt our citizens’ lives and would like to thank our residents for their continued patience throughout the duration of these projects. We appreciate your patience as this work is underway and we kindly suggest adding a few extra minutes to reach your destination. MDOT expects construction to be complete and US-12 to reopen by September 10, 2021. Further questions can be directed to The City of Coldwater at (517) 279-6959, www.coldwater.org, or by visiting us at the Henry L. Brown Municipal Building on One Grand St. Coldwater, MI 49036.
