The City of Coldwater is partnering with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to award home maintenance and improvement grants to eligible home-owners in the Irwin Park Neighborhood within the defined boundaries of Pearl St., S. Sprague St., E. Park Ave., and Division St.

Residents of the Irwin Park Neighborhood whose income are 120% or less than the Area Median Income and who own and permanently reside in their homes can qualify and apply for grants of up to $7,499. They will be able to use these funds for painting, new siding, roofs, soffits, gutters, doors, windows, and front porch improvements that are visible from the public streets. The home improvement projects will need to be completed before December 15th, 2021 in order to be eligible for the grant. Read through the program guidelines here

The City of Coldwater affirmatively furthers fair housing and will not discriminate based on race, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, or disability when allocating this grant. Grant funding will not be available to elected City officials, City employees directly involved in administering the program; and immediate family members of those identified here.

Applications will be available online or by email request beginning Monday, June 21 and will be accepted through Friday, July 2 at 5:00 p.m. Interested residents of Historic 1st Ward Neighborhood are encouraged to contact Planning & Zoning Administrator Dean Walrack by email with any questions at
