The new Coldwater tennis facility was celebrated on May 17th with an official dedication before the last home Middle School tennis match. The newly renovated tennis courts would not have been possible without the collaborative effort of our donors and sponsors. The commitment of $200,000 from both the City of Coldwater and Coldwater Community Schools ($400,000 total) was the foundation for the construction of the 8-10 new post-tension concrete courts. An overall fundraising goal of $800,000 was established and achieved in order to purchase new lighting, fencing, and fund future maintenance.
Since their original construction in 1976, the courts have been used every year by over 500 Physical Education Classes and competitive Tennis Teams. The community also utilizes the courts for youth and adult leagues, camps, tournaments and pickle ball. Aesthetically, the courts were worn out and in desperate need for repair. Thank you to all of our donors for your generous support.
