The City of Coldwater will be proceeding with its annual Independence Day Firework Show on July 4th, although this year they will ask the community for a special request; to please practice social distancing for the safety of themselves and others. The show will take place at its normal location in Heritage Park and will start at dark, approximately between 10:00 - 10:30 pm. The City encourages participants and spectators to practice social distancing by staying within their immediate groups and by wearing masks.
“Heritage Park provides a large open space to watch the fireworks from, plentiful parking, and an outdoor location,” said Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker, “we decided that the event would be safe enough to proceed with. We hope this will help our community feel a sense of normalcy again. This is a Coldwater tradition that so many look forward to every year and we are excited to preserve that tradition.”
The City would also like to thank The Coldwater Noon Rotary Club, Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club, and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities for sponsoring this year’s show; and the Coldwater Fire Department, Police Department, and Municipal Services Department for their hard work to make this annual tradition possible.
