CBPU Warns of Door-To-Door Solicitation Scams

CBPU Scammers

After receiving several calls from concerned citizens that have been approached by very aggressive door-to-door salesman telling them that the CBPU is no longer going to be able to provide them with Internet or television services, we felt it was in our community’s best interest to issue a statement.  The CBPU is not going out of business and has not been sold.  We will continue to offer competitive services, employ local people, and respond to your needs quickly and professionally, as we always have.

The CBPU encourages customers to read the fine print when considering offers from other providers. Please also keep in mind that door-to-door contractors are paid by the number of customers they sign up.  Our community owned telecommunication system does not engage in “bait-and-switch” offers or require contracts.  Our rates and services are very transparent and available on our website.  If you have any questions you can visit us at City Hall or call us locally at 279-9531.
