MDARD Partners at Michigan Economic Development Corporation Announce Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation Grant Program
"On May 9, 2022 the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced a $3 million grant initiative designed to assist Michigan's small manufacturers with technology improvements. The initiative, the Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation Grant program, will provide reimbursement-based grants of up to $25,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible technologies, including additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics and automation, and more.
Grants will be administered through six nonprofit organizations across the state including the Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association, Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development, Manufacturing Growth Alliance, Networks Northwest, Southwest Michigan First, and The Right Place.
The Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation Grant is part of a larger initiative offered from the partnership of MEDC, Automation Alley, and Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to raise awareness and improve technology capabilities for small to mid-sized manufacturers across the state.
Requested allocations must not exceed $25,000 and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all funds are allocated.
To be eligible, companies must be classified as small business manufacturers, as defined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.
