Interstate
The primary road to the city of Coldwater is Interstate 69, which passes along the east side of the city. The I-69 expressway connects Coldwater with the city of Battle Creek 35 miles north on I-94, to the city of Lansing, 60 miles to the north on I-69, and the Indiana border, approximately 11 miles to the south. US-12 provides east-west access across the lower southern quarter of the State and through Coldwater.
Branch County is ideally located to serve the supplier and market needs of companies in diverse industries. Almost half of the nation's population and income is within 500 miles of Coldwater. In addition, many of Canada's major population centers are within a one-day drive. It is accessible from highways I-69, I-80/90, I-94 and US-12.
Public Transport
Public transportation in the city of Coldwater area is provided by the Branch Area Transit Authority (BATA). The service operates on a demand-response system and maintains a total of 10 buses and approximately 23 employees.
Buses are in service from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays. Funding for the Authority is supported by a combination of State and Federal monies, County mileage and bus fares. For further information, contact BATA at 517-278-5889.
Air
The Memorial Airport, operated by Branch County, is located in Coldwater Township, roughly two miles west of the city. Built in the 1940s, the two runway airport recently extended the main runway to 4,700 feet and lighted all runways. Located to the west of Coldwater on US-12, the airport is a general aviation airport with two bituminous concrete runways and a grass runway. The nearest airport with commercial service, the Kalamazoo / Battle Creek International Airport, is approximately 50 miles from Coldwater.

Rail service throughout Branch County travels along a 36-mile right-of-way jointly owned by the City of Coldwater and four local Branch County manufacturers.
