Primary Role


Our Administrative Services Department primary role is to provide customer service to our ratepayers and taxpayers. From making sure you have all your utilities turned on when moving into a new residence, to assisting you in signing up for cable, Internet, phone and garbage services, our customer service representatives are here to assist you with all the services provided by the City and BPU. We also handle all the billings and collections. With over 8,100 utility customers and citizens, our customer service representatives are busy collecting over $40,000,000 annually in utility bills, property taxes and other payments. All of these payments are collected through the various payment methods the City and BPU offer.

Other Responsibilities


The ASD also handles the finance duties, general accounting and payroll for the 14 departments and 120 employees. Other support services ASD provides are network administration and receptionist duties. We are committed to helping our City residents and BPU utility customers by providing superior customer service and administrative services to all City and BPU departments.
